still have a question that has not been answered
here, who do I contact? |
1.
Q. How much money is it possible to make?
A. Technically there is no limit.
The amount you earn will be based upon your efforts
and the efforts of those in your referral group to
tell others about this program and to spend time using
the Banner Bar service each month and participating
in the various promotions and visiting the advertiser’s
websites. For further information on potential earnings
possibilities visit our page.
To go directly there click
here.

2.
Q. Do I have to buy anything?
A. Absolutely not. While we encourage
you to visit the advertiser’s websites and remember
them when you go shopping, you are not under any obligation
to do so. Keep in mind though, advertisers are the
source of all income for the program including your
compensation. Please don’t always think “someone
else will do it” because if everyone thought
that way, the advertisers would have no incentive
to continue supporting you or anyone else in the program.
^

3.
Q. How much does it cost to be a member?
A. Nothing! Our service is free.
However, we are not an internet service provider so
you will still need to pay for your internet access
just as you have in the past.
^

4.
Q. Are there any age restrictions on becoming a member?
A. Yes we have an age requirement.
In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy
Protection Act (COPPA) and since we require all members
to complete a Member Survey, all new members must
be at least eighteen (18) years of age upon date of
10pays.com registration. Additionally, if you are
a resident of Japan, you must have reached the age
of twenty (20) years to join 10pays.com.
^

5.
Q. Is this some type of Pyramid Program or Ponzi Scheme?
A. Absolutely Not!
10Pays.com is a legitimate Network
Marketing Company, please read below to learn the
differences between our program and any sort of pyramid
program.
Pyramid Programs (also known
as Ponzi Schemes) have been around for a long time
and are illegal worldwide. They are usually promoted
as a “Get Rich Quick” program and there
are many variations. Typically a new recruit or “investor”
is required to pay a rather large sum of money to
join. The promise made is that once you “work
your way up”, you will reach a certain point
where you will receive much more than your original
“investment” back.... The problem with
all pyramid programs is they require the continual
recruitment of new members to keep functioning. Once
the supply of willing recruits drops, the movement
up the “levels” quits and the game is
over.... Everyone that has not reached the top “level”
loses their money. It is estimated that over 85% of
the people who have been involved in any of these
programs have lost money.... For more information
on these types of programs, visit the Federal Trade
Commission’s website at www.ftc.gov
Here is why 10pays is totally different from any type
of Pyramid Program:
First of all, we are 100% free
to join and there are no membership dues.... The money
our members have the ability to earn comes from the
advertisers that are hoping to influence your buying
habits.
Second, members are not required
to recruit anyone in order to be involved in 10pays.com.
Sure, you will do better if you have referrals but
that is not a requirement.
Third, the 10pays framework
is stable meaning that there is not any movement to
different levels. You neither move up or down, nor
do you “drop off” at some point.
We encourage you and all 10pays
members to learn more about Pyramid Programs and why
10pays is not such a program but rather a legitimate
network marketing program. For more information please

6.
Q. What is the minimum amount I need to earn in order
to get paid?
A. At this time, you must have accrued
at least U.S. $50.00 (fifty dollars) in order to meet
the payment threshold. If you do not accumulate enough
points in any given month to meet the payment threshold,
those points will carry over into your next month
up until such time as you meet the threshold amount.
^

7.
Q. How many hours will you pay me for?
A. At this time, there is no maximum
number of hours per month.
^
8.
Q. I forgot to list my referrer when I signed up,
can you move me?
A. Unfortunately, no.... The only
way to change referrers is to cancel your membership
and rejoin the program using the correct information
for your referrer. Caution: If you cancel your membership
for any reason, including because you desire to change
referrers, you will lose all referrals you currently
have and any points that may have accrued in your
account. It is rarely in a member’s best interest
to cancel an existing membership, so be sure this
is what you desire before completing the cancellation
process. Once cancelled, you may not change your mind.

at the following email address: techservice@10pays.com
^

10.
Q. I have been using the Banner Bar service for several
minutes but I have not received any points yet, what
is wrong?
A. This is normal. Currently, the
Banner Bar only indicates an update on your points
count every 25th ad. The service is designed that
way to reduce the load on the servers and also reduce
bandwidth usage providing operational cost savings
benefitting all members. In addition, if you close
your Banner Bar before the first 25 ads are shown,
the system will not have recorded your status and
you will not receive credit for those ads that were
shown in that short time.

11.
Q. Does the 10pays program work with Macintosh™
computers?
A. Not at this time. Although we
feel Mac computers are great pieces of equipment,
the reality is over 90% of internet users are using
operating systems and software that is based on the
PC platform.
^
12.
Q. The computer I use is also used by other people.
Can we have separate accounts and still use the same
computer or do we have to share one “common”
account?
A. You may all sign up individually
and have separate accounts and still use the same
computer. You will simply need to log in and log out
each time you use your account. We do not allow shared
accounts.
^
13.
Q. I use more than one computer, can I use the program
on more than one system?
A. Sure, you may set up your account
on as many computers as you like. However, you may
only run the Banner Bar service on one computer at
a time. Attempting to run multiple computers with
the Banner Bar service activated simultaneously is
considered a fraudulent activity and is grounds for
termination.
A special note about using 10pays
in the workplace: While we have no objection to you
using our software at work, many employers do not
share our opinion. You should always get permission
(preferably written) before downloading and using
our software on any computer you do not own.
^

14.
Q. Can I have more than one account?
A. No. Each member is only allowed
one account. You can however access your account from
as many different computers as you like. For more
information see question #13.

15.
Q. I just purchased a new computer, how do I reload
the program onto my new system?

your new computer, go to the Members Account link
on the 10pays.com homepage. Once you have accessed
your personal area clink on the “Download”
link and follow the instructions provided.

16.
Q. I forgot my password, can you help me retrieve
it?
A. We can help you retrieve it... Go to the 10pays.com
homepage and click on the “Members Zone ”
link. On the page that asks for your password is a
link that will help you retrieve it. Or use the following
link. Lost Password.

17.
Q. Do I have to accept your emails in order to be
a member?
A. Yes. As part of your membership
agreement with 10pays, you agree to accept emails
or other messages via our message center from us.
These emails or messages will only come about once
a week and will update you on what is going on within
the company and may also be promotional in nature.
Many of these messages will also contain links to
various advertisers which may provide you with extra
points that add to your compensation. We urge all
members to click on these links and at least visit
the advertiser's website. At the very least, you will
be building personal time by visiting the companies
that are supporting all of us.
^

18.
Q. Can you provide me with a list of names and email
addresses for members in my referral group?
A. Sorry, while we realize there are many
positive reasons why individual members would like
to communicate with other people in their group, we
will never provide that information because it would
violate our strict Privacy Policy. This is to protect
you as well as all members from receiving unwanted messages.
However, you may set up informal
lines of communication by talking with people you
directly referred and already have contact information
for, they can do the same and if a group of like minded
people want to communicate with each other, then that
is fine. Just remember that every member has the right
to privacy, if any member requests you no longer contact
them, then you must honor their request. For more
information about our Privacy Policy click

Q. What happens if I switch companies that provide
my internet service?
A. Nothing will change as far as your ability
to access the service. But if your email address changes,
you will need to update your information by clicking
the “Members Account” link on the 10pays.com
homepage.

20.
Q. How do referrals work?
A. Referrals are an important part of the program
for any member who wants to increase their compensation
potential. Simply put, you receive points or credits
for time your referrals spend using our service(s).
As a general rule, the more referrals you have the
more points you have the potential to earn.
You gain referrals in one of
three ways:
#1. You personally tell someone
about the program and they decide to join listing
you as their referrer.
#2. One of the people who are
in your referral group tells someone about the program
and they join using that person as their referrer.
As long as the new referral falls into one of the
eight levels immediately below you, you will entitled
to earn points for their activities.
#3. One of the people who have
you in their referral group tells someone new about
the program who decides to join and names that person
as their referrer. Depending on the circumstances
that new member may spillover into your referral group
as well allowing you to earn points for their use
of our services also.
^

21.
Q. Is there any limit to the amount of people I refer?
A. No..... The more the better! Just remember
that after your first 10 Direct Referrals, your other
referrals will spillover to those below you. They
still will be in your referral group, of course, and
you will still earn credits for their use of our service(s)
(up to 8 levels) but now you will be helping those
members below you.
^

22.
Q. What does the term “spillover” mean?
A. Spillover is the word used to describe
the process where a new member is placed if the referring
member already has 10people on their first level.
For example: Chris tells her
husband Larry about the program and he signs up using
Chris as his referring member. Meanwhile, Chris has
told 9 more people who have also signed up using Chris
as their referring member. Chris’s first level
is now full but she may not even know that everyone
she has told has signed up. If she continues to tell
people about the program and they sign up listing
her as their referral, the 10pays computer automatically
recognizes her first level is full so the computer
looks for the person who has been in Chris’s
group the longest and does not have 10 people on their
first level. The computer then uses that person’s
referral ID information as the referrer for the new
member. The new member will still be in Chris’s
group but will now also be in one of Chris’s
referral’s group. In this case, since Larry
was the first person to sign up under Chris, the computer
would place the new member as a referral in Larry’s
first level...... That scenario would be described
as “ Larry received a spillover referral from
Chris.”

23.
Q. If 10pays and other members are going to help me
build my group, why should I do anything?
A. Good Question.... Of course, you are not
required to tell or recruit anyone to be involved
in 10pays.com. You will still receive the benefits
of the effects of spillover from the members above
you who have you in their referral group as well as
the efforts of anyone who ends up in one your referral
groups. However, as with anything in life, those who
put forth more effort will probably see better results.
^

24.
Q. How quickly can I expect my referral group to grow?
A. This varies greatly from member to member.
The most important growth factors are your level of
involvement along with the overall involvement of
members above you who have you in their referral group
as well as the involvement of the people in your referral
group. In practice, those who remain excited about
the program, tend to attract like-minded people and
those groups are more likely to do better than most.
^
25.
Q. Can I reasonably expect my referral group to eventually
“fill up”?
A. Sorry but you are more likely to win the
lottery several times in a row.....The mathematical
model that 10pays was developed on creates a very
large number of available spaces in each member’s
referral group.. Reality dictates for many reasons,
not every space will get filled..... Don’t despair,
though, even a very small percentage of overall spaces
filled will make this program very worthwhile. (Tip:
the more effort you put into helping fill your first
two levels, the better your chances.) For more information
on your earnings possibilities.. Go

26.
Q. Is this program available worldwide?
A. Currently 10pays.com is available in almost
all countries worldwide. However, 10pays.com is a
company based in the U.S. and as such is prohibited
by the U.S. Government from accepting citizens of
the following countries as members: The Balkans, Cuba,
Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Sudan, Burma (Myanmar),
Libya, and Zimbabwe. Additionally citizens from countries
that are prohibited to do business with U.S. companies
are urged not to apply for membership. These restrictions
may change from time to time.
Additionally, at this time,
the 10pays.com website is only published in English.

27.
Q. In what ways can I earn money?
A. Earning money with the 10pays program
is very simple. Once you have completed your membership
and downloaded the Banner Bar ad-serving software,
simply use the internet like you would normally and
if our Banner Bar is running, you will be paid for
the time you accrue. You also may earn points for
reading our emails (don’t forget to keep the
Banner Bar running) and by participating in various
promotions that we or our advertisers may sponsor.
There is also a portion of our website called “Fun
& Profit” that you can link to through our
homepage that has various free and paid offers that
allow you to increase the number of points you receive.
And finally let’s not
forget all the points you may receive from the activities
of your referrals.
^
28.
Q. Where does the money you pay me come from?
A. The source of funding for these programs
are the advertisers whose ads appear on the Banner
Bar service and those who have promotions listed in
the Fun & Profit portion of our website. Based
on the activity of the 10pays.com membership community
as a whole, they pay us for presenting the ads. We
in turn share that revenue with all the members who
participated in the program... Please support the
advertisers whenever you can because without them,
your opportunity would not exist!
^

29.
Q. What is the approximate value of a point?
A. The value of a point will vary month to
month depending on the amount of advertising revenue
we are able to collect. At this time an estimated
approximate value is U.S. $0.02 per hour. While this
amount seems very low, the amount you can receive
in compensation is actually still quite respectable
thanks to the group building software and eight level
referral structure. For more information on your earnings
potential please visit our Referral Calculator Page.
To go there now, please click the following link.

30.
Q. How many points do I get for the surfing time of
my referrals?
A. You are eligible to receive points for
your referrals based on a percentage of the current
rates that you are paid. For example you are paid
5% of the points for each member on your first through
eighth levels as long as you had a greater than or
equal number of points for each member on those levels.
If any member in your referral group had more points
than you did on any level, you would not be entitled
to share in the excess points.
^
31.
Q. When and how will you pay me?
A. Once you have reached the payment threshold
we will normally pay you within 60 days.
It works like this... You accumulate the number of
required points in any given month needed to reach
the payment threshold, we still have to bill and collect
from the advertisers for that month. This process
normally takes 30 to 45 days. Once we have received
payment from the advertisers, we process the compensation
payments for all members who have reached the payment
threshold.
In an effort to minimize company expenses in processing
payments to members, we intend on using online transfers
whenever possible. This will help preserve more funds
with which better to serve our members. Depending
on the country you reside in you will be notified
of payment procedures available when you reach or
approach the payment threshold. These procedures may
change from time to time.
^

32.
Q. Are income taxes owed on the money I earn? Will
you report my earnings?
A. In most cases you are solely responsible
for reporting your earnings and paying any required
taxes in your country. Additionally, if you are a
U.S. citizen, you are required to report any earnings
and pay the appropriate tax to the Internal Revenue
Service and we may be required to report your earnings
to the IRS also.

Q. Can I sell or transfer my account?
A. No not at this time... This is an area

35.
Q. What if I decide to quit?
A. No problem, you may quit anytime you like.
All you need to do is go to the “Members Zone ”
link on the 10pays homepage and click on the “Cancel
Membership” link. For your protection, you will
need your password. This is to prevent someone other
than you from cancelling your membership...
Important: Be sure and keep
your password safe. If you cancel your membership,
you will forfeit all referrals and points that have
not met the payment threshold. If you quit and decide
to rejoin, you will not be allowed to return to your
old position. You will be treated as a completely
new member.
^
36.
Q. What happens when someone else quits? Do the rest
of us move up?
A. No... Everyone always remains in the same
position as when they started. If someone drops out,
it just creates a space that is not productive. Just
think of it in the same manner as if someone joined
and then never was active in the program.
^

40.
Q. What is Spam? Why is it bad? And why will you terminate
my account if I Spam?
A. To understand why we are so adamant against
Spam, it is important to understand what Spam is.
Spam is just another word for unsolicited email. It
is the computer world’s version of “junk
mail”. But it is much worse than postal junk
mail because Spam costs the recipients not the sender.
To understand how this works, let's use an example
of an advertiser using junk mail with the postal system
versus an advertiser using Spam system to our email
accounts.
If an advertiser wants to send
out a hundred thousand pieces of postal junk mail,
they must purchase a list of names, pay to have the
pieces of mail created and then pay postage to have
it delivered to your mailbox. The costs for such a
mailing are large to the advertiser, so they will
not do it very often particularly if they do not get
much of a response.
Compare this to an advertiser
who decides to Spam the email system. This advertiser
only has to purchase a list of names, create an advertisement
and send it to a hundred thousand people. Since there
is no postage involved, and very little production
costs, the advertiser is not out much... To make matters
worse, the advertiser could send you the same message
everyday without paying a penny more. Imagine your
email box filled everyday with thousands of messages,
it would be impossible to keep going through them
to look for messages from people you really cared
about. Compounding the problem would be all the companies
that provide servers and memory for the email systems.
They would be in an never-ending battle of trying
to add more memory to keep up with the messages.
Who would have to pay for all
these “performance upgrades”? Of course
it would be all of us that rely on using the internet...
It would be the equivalent of having to pay the postal
service to deliver junk mail to us whether we wanted
it or not.
Fortunately, there are laws against
this type of behavior. These laws are for all of our
protection and have been implemented in an effort
to keep the internet as affordable as possible. In
the spirit of stamping out Spam, 10pays.com strictly
forbids any of our members to use Spam in any form
in an attempt to attract referrals. If you are caught,
you will be immediately terminated and may not be
allowed to rejoin.
Please keep the following rules
in mind to protect yourself:
1. Never send an email soliciting
10pays to anyone but friends who you normally correspond
with through email.
2. Do not go to the various
chat rooms and bring up the subject of 10pays when
that is not their topic.
3. Do not post to message boards
or news groups on the internet and bring up the subject
of 10pays when that is not their topic.
The safest way to protect yourself is through off-line
referral recruiting.... For ideas on ways to grow,
please visit our Referral Ideas page by clicking on
the link from our homepage or by clicking on the following
link: Referral Ideas.

Q. What is the difference between Spam and “Opt-in” email?
A. Spam was discussed in question #40 previously.
Opt-in email is mail that you receive in your email
from companies and advertisers that you have previously
indicated your willingness to receive email from.
These typically include newsletters, sweepstakes,
internet magazines (also called e-zines) and almost
anything else you may be interested in. Most time
these pieces of mail will also have some sort of advertising
associated with them. The advertising normally pays
for the content of the email you are interested in.
You as the email recipient always
retain the right to terminate any opt-in email you
receive. Recent U.S. legislation has made it a requirement
that all mass mailings of any sort have an “unsubscribe”
link on the email that lets that company know you
no longer wish to be included on their mailing list.

Q. What do you do with the information you collect
about me?
A. We use the information we collect about
you in two ways.
#1. We use the information you provide to create a
profile of ads to be shown to you that may be of interest
to you thereby reducing the amount of non-relevant
ads that come across your Banner Bar window.
#2. We compile your information
along with all the other members into group summary
form. This non-personal summary or aggregate is then
shown to advertisers or potential advertisers to show
what demographics are represented by our group as
a whole. This helps advertisers decide whether to
sponsor our program.
Please be assured that we never
provide any personal information about you or any
other of our valued members. For more information
about our Privacy Policy please click the following
link: Privacy Policy.

Q. I think this program is great! How can I let advertisers
know I appreciate them supporting the program?
A. First of all, click on their ads and links
from the emails from time to time. Most of these ads
and links will take you to their websites and most
of these sites have an area where you can contact
them and leave a message. Don’t forget to mention
you are a 10pays member.... And of course, support
the advertisers when it makes sense for you to do
so!

Q. Why do you use a separate Communication Center to deliver your messages,
wouldn't it be easier to just send it to my normal email address?
A. There are two primary reasons a separate message delivery system is used.
First of all, many members change providers of their internet service from time to
time and in doing so obtain a new email address which is different from what we have
on file. This could cause problems and delays in providing payments when due.
Secondly, from time to time we may send messages from sponsors that are promotional
in nature. Some of these messages may allow you to earn bonus points. It is
important from the standpoint of the advertisers that everyone involved realizes
these messages are not Spam but rather an normal part of the program. Having the
messages delivered to you in a separate area helps keep this distinction clear.

Q. Several years ago, there were a few similar companies
that failed, what makes your program different?
A. You are correct, starting in 1999, there
were several companies that tested some form of this
concept. Unfortunately, their business models were
developed based on the very high advertising revenues
that were being paid at the time. Most borrowed from
venture capital companies very large sums of money
to build their organizational infrastructure. When
the prices they could charge their sponsors for advertising
fell dramatically, they could not make a positive
return on the money the banks or venture capital companies
had provided and were forced to close down.
Does this mean the overall concept
is a failure. Not at all. Just as most inventions
need refinement before they become practical (Remember
when people thought the automobile would never replace
the horse as the most common form of transportation),
so did this evolution on how advertisers and consumers
talk and do business together.
Several factors make your involvement
with 10pays more likely to succeed now than ever before.
A few are as follows:
A) The global economy is just
now coming out of the recessionary period that caused
many companies to substantially reduce the amount
of money they spent on advertising. With consumers
showing they are willing to spend more, companies
are willing to advertise more in the hopes of gaining
their business.
B) 10pays is the first company to create an exclusive
automated group building technology. This group building
software along with the company motto of “helping
others while helping yourself” is a tremendous
factor in keeping people involved and helping everyone
be successful. None of the prior companies had this
commitment to their members. As such, most people
who are not sales orientated had a tougher time getting
their groups to grow and dropouts were frequent.
C) Another problem many of the
previous companies had was the instability of their
membership community as a whole. As was mentioned
above, since there was no company assistance in helping
members build stable referral groups, the dropout
rate would cause the overall demographics of the membership
community to constantly change. Since advertisers
are interested in the demographics of the group they
are soliciting, it is important that this factor not
be constantly changing.
D) Company Costs. Many of the
previous companies who had received large amounts
of start up capital spent lavishly on multiple offices
with all the necessary equipment and strong in-house
support staff. To our way of thinking, that was premature
since those were costs that had to be covered before
they could pay their members. We believe that staying
profitable (and paying our members, of course) is
considerably more important than appearance. As such,
10pays “outsources” as much of our support
work as possible. Since the companies we employ have
already invested in all the infrastructure costs,
we simply pay for the time we need them. This tremendously
reduces our costs and allows us to concentrate on
the financial health of our members.
E) 10pays pays through 8 levels
of referrals. Most of the “old” companies
paid no further than 5 levels. When you add both the
automated group building capabilities of your group
with the multiplication factor of 10 for each level,
you can see that the space for growth of your referral
group far exceeds anything previously offered. With
the large amount of referrals possible and the greater
stability of your group, it is much easier to make
money with our program than it was previously. Plus
the 8 level payout plan more than compensates for
the decrease in ad revenue since 1999.

Q. Why do I have to surf using the Banner Bar in order
to get paid for the time of my referrals?
A. The reason we require all members to put
in as much “personal time” (or point accumulation)
as what they get paid for from the time (or point
accumulation) of the members in their group is simply
to keep things fair. We and all members realize that
the amount you are paid for your personal time is
very small. As such, some members might take the attitude
that they won’t use the Banner Bar personally
or participate in various sponsor promotions but would
still like to collect an income based on those in
their referral group that do. That type of mentality
goes against the whole 10pays philosophy of “helping
others while helping yourself”. As such, we
feel it is in the best interests of the membership
community as a whole that members are only paid for
the efforts of members in their referral group up
to the amount they are personally willing to put in.

Q. Since you do not pay members for the time spent
online by their referrals beyond what they personally
spend, what happens to that money?
A. All money not paid out because of time
requirements is simply used to increase the effective
payout rate for all members the following month.

Q. Why don’t you pay through an infinite number
of referral levels?
A. Paying through an infinite number of levels
could conceivably cause an unfair advantage for members
who have been with 10pays longer. Since one of the
company core values is to treat all members, regardless
of when they joined, equally, it is necessary to have
a “cut-off” level.

Q. Does any of your software or the Banner Bar contain
any sort of "spyware" that tracks my activites
on the internet?
A. No..
Your surfing habits are your private business.
The only information we collect is your total time
using the Banner Bar service and any interactions
you have through the Banner Bar portal with sponsors
that entitles you to extra compensation points.
The advertisements you receive are based upon information
you provided on your member survey. For more
